Around Here | 35/52

Reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Yes, I’m slowly making my way through the entire series.
Playing Farm Heroes Saga on the iPhone.
Watching documentaries on Netflix.
Trying to be patient with 5 kids in the house, and they are driving me insane with all the loud noise.
Cooking nothing today.
Eating whatever I can get my hands on
Drinking way too much Dr. Pepper
Doing my best to keep my head level
Going out of my mind some days
Loving how willing Violet has hugs and kisses ready for me.
Hating how much I've raised my voice at her in the past week and have resolved to her to make it better and keep a level head more often.
Discovering that once in a while, a nice walk outside after the kids are in bed is enough to clear my head.
Enjoying nice hot bubble baths after the kids are asleep.
Thinking of how to get us outside in the cooler months. Probably more park time.
Feeling a slight chill in the air. Fall is on the way here.
Hoping (for) Dominique to go back to a regular sleeping pattern.
Listening (to) Violet asking the same question 20 times in a row, even after I’ve given her an adequate response the first time (Am I the only one?)
Thanking Keith for telling me to take a walk yesterday evening. It was much needed.
Finishing up my PL spreads for August. So close!
Starting to really enjoy my knitting when I have a moment or two. It’s nice to lose myself in it for a while.

Dear Dominique // 4 months

 Dear Dominique:
Has it really been four months already? My oh my dear little girl, you have grown tremendously, in every way possible.
You’ve really found your voice this month and it brings smiles to Mommy & Daddy’s faces while we lay in bed in the morning, just listening to you talk to yourself. We love hearing you coo and babble your way through any noise that you can make and it is totally heart warming to hear that coming from you. Someday my girl, you’ll be talking in full sentences and telling me what your life is like and asking me a gazillion questions. Right now though, I’ll settle for the baby babble.
You’re also trying very hard to catch up to Violet as fast as you can. You figured out how to roll over early in the month with little to no issues. And when I praised you, you just looked at me with “meh” on your face and went back to chewing on your fists, acting like it was no big deal. We thought it was a fluke, but when you continued to keep rolling over, we knew that it was the real deal. And shortly after that, you figured out how to roll from your front to your back! You’re on a roll now (yes, Mommy knows she’s lame). You also continue to grow out of your clothes at amazing rates, as you’re getting into some 6-12 month clothing. You really did take after Daddy in the height department.
It’s been a bit of a struggle for Mommy to make sure that I’m spending equal amounts of time with you and Violet, and still have time for Daddy and herself. Luckily you seem to be understanding of that and are pretty content during your awake time and love the family time that we get together.
Keep on growing little one.
Love always,

Around Here // 33/52

Reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (for me); Green Eggs and Ham (for Violet at naptime).
Playing catch-up on the girls’ journals. How did I fall behind again?
Watching nothing this week. Weird.
Trying to get my house back under control.
Cooking lots, especially with the slow cooker. It’s too hot to do anything in the oven.
Eating healthier (trying to)
Drinking iced tea and water.
Doing loads of laundry
Going out of my mind some days.
Loving the quiet time that I get with Keith, even if it is only a couple minutes here and there.
Hating that Violet has decided to boycott her afternoon naps. Drives me crazy.
Discovering that Dominique wants to be awake more often during the day and loving it.
Enjoying my quiet time when I get it.
Thinking of how to get rid of more “stuff” in the house.
Celebrating that Dom is officially rolling over, at 3 months! Eeek!

Motherhood and Hobbies

I think I'm finally getting used to our new routines with 2 kids in the house now. Finally. It’s taken a while to figure out, and sometimes it still doesn't work. But for the most part, we've got it down pat. It’s only been just over 3 months…..
I've been very lucky that I have relatively easy kids for the most part. Yes, Violet has her temper tantrum days (and those are going down in number) and days where she is just awesome. Yes, there are days where Dominique makes me go absolutely batty and days where she is the most happiest baby on the planet. And everything in between. Would I trade in any of the bad days for more awesome days? Yes and no. Yes in that the awesome days are easier to deal with, but No because the bad days are learning days for all of us. Maybe it’s a bad day because of the weather, or too much running around, not enough stimulation, too much stimulation, etc. It’s all stuff that I can learn from and the kids grow from.
Right now though? I feel exhausted and tired. Keith’s been working overtime at work lately and once evening hits, if I don’t have any help, I'm done and beat. But my creative energy is going through the roof. I've currently got 4 Project Life albums going at once (our 2014, my Travel, Dominique’s and Violet’s), never mind that I started knitting again, thanks to reading some knitting blog posts at Elise Cripe’s blog. My first intent was to knit a blanket for each girl, but I need circular needles first and I don’t have any. So I ordered some from Amazon (just waiting for them to show up) and in the meantime, started knitting a scarf with my straight needles to keep my hands occupied while I watch TV. And it’s taken me 4 tries to get the width right, so hopefully this time will work.
Another crazy thing is that I've started to get the itch to start quilting. Except for a couple problems: 1) I have no clue how to quilt or even where to start; 2) I don’t own a sewing machine; 3) I’m crazy. But at least I have some ideas for if/when I do manage to get my hands on a sewing machine. For now I’ll stick with scrapbooking and knitting. Although Keith did look at me crazy when I started my knitting and just shook his head at me. Oh well.
Enough ranting for now? I think so.

My 3-Month Old is Doing WHAT???!!!

I'm afraid it's true. Dominique, at 3 months, is officially rolling over.

And it's not a fluke. Seriously.

She rolled over a couple times on Saturday, and then again on Sunday and has been enjoying every minute of trying to figure out how to get mobile.

Can someone please tell her that she's only a 3-month old baby? Please!

June Project Life 2014: Weeks 24 - 26

So I'm changing some things up here. Instead of trying to blog every week my Project Life layouts (which is failing miserably), I've decided to just blog once a month about them instead. Makes it way easier on me, especially if I'm falling behind. And only one post a month!

Onto the remainder of June's layouts!

Reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Playing hide ‘n’ seek with Dom.
Watching 7th season of House M.D.

Enjoying time with my girls before they grow up too fast. And as much time with Keith as we can.
Thinking of possibly moving, depending if the new job goes through.
Feeling very tired as of late.
Hoping (for) Keith’s new job to go through. He had an interview this week, so now we’re just waiting.
Listening (to) Dom’s constant noises. Love it!
Thanking God for every blessing these days.
Finishing my pregnancy books. Finally!
Starting to re-vamp my craft closet. It’s in major need of an overhaul.
