Date Night

Seeing as this weekend is Canada Day long weekend with Canada Day tomorrow, me and Keith decided to capitalize on this opportunity together. We had made plans a couple days ago to go to the city, have some supper and watch a movie. One of our tenants was gracious and kind enough to give us a free date voucher (he had gotten quite a few in the mail) so that we could go see a movie. I had already talked to my Dad and he said that him and J would take Violet for the night as they haven't had her for a while. Sweet!

Once Violet was dropped off, we headed into the city. We were going to see Now You See Me, but Keith twisted my rubber arm into seeing Man of Steel! Best hubby ever!

And since we needed a quick supper, we decided to go to Boston Pizza for a bite. Ordered the Buffalo BBQ Chicken Pizza and had some good conversation while we ate.

After we were done eating, we headed to the movie theatre. Got our tickets, although we had to pay the extra to see it in 3D. Oh well. And as we had time to kill and the mall was closed, Keith went and bought some arcade passes to play some games. Didn't get a whole lot of tickets to cash in for a prize, so Keith said that we'd keep them and just keep adding them up so that hopefully he could get me a stuffed bear or something. Aww....

The movie was AWESOME! I grew up watching Superman and this one is probably one of my favorites.

My Dad sent me these 2 pictures of Violet having fun with them.

Project Life 2013 - Week 25

Welcome to Week 25 (June 16-22) of Project Life!
We had a very busy week this week and I had a hard time picking out a favorite photo by the end. But I did it!
Overall look of Week 25.

Left page
The weekly card is from the PL Seafoam kit with my writing on there.
I took a favorite photo from every day, except Saturday as I wrote up our grocery list, edited it in PicTapGo on the iPhone as that's what I used to take all my photos this week. I mainly used the Sweet Tooth filter on all the photos to brighten them up some more. Really love that app!!
Then I took the daily memory brushes from Ali Edwards Embracing the Everyday digital stamp set. I re-sized them to fit and recolored them as they come in black and I wanted them to pop out a bit more. Love how it turned out!

Up-close of some of the photos on the left page.

Right page
On the right page I've got a pass for the beach that we went to on Wednesday. Violet did not like cold beach water AT ALL! This was also the week of Violet waking up at 6:30am every single day this week. This mommy was TIRED! Also 2 journal cards from Sn@p Studio by Simple Stories that have our week's agenda written on there and a filler card from there as well.

On the journal cards, I wrote out this week's agenda and added some stamps to it. The cherished stamp is from Prima Marketing Lifetime Stamps and the heart stamp is from BoBunny Snow Day Stamps.

Project Life 2013 - Weeks 23-24

Welcome to Project Life - Weeks 23-24.

As summer has arrived, our days are slowly getting filled with stuff to do and not enough time sometimes to catch up. Violet is growing so fast right before my eyes! I can't believe that in 4 months she'll be 2 years old! My how time flies.

photo _DSC5856_zps47669f94.jpgOverall look of Week 23. Sorry about the light glare. That's the problem of not having enough natural light in the house to photograph and you have to do it under florescent lights. Bummer.

I really like how this came together. Just enough photos and words. And lots of writing on photos.

The title card for Week 23 is from the Project Life Cinnamon Kit. Love it! I don't remember when the top journal card is from. I found it in an old scrapbook and it wasn't filled out yet. Bonus! The bottom journal card is from Project Life Clementine Kit.

 photo _DSC5862_zpsa5bda905.jpg

Lots more writing on photos. I like how it adds to the story and yet doesn't take up another space. Top journal card is from Project Life Baby Girl with Lavender and Orange Peel Stickles on them. The 2nd journal card is from Project Life Cobalt Kit. Stamps on there are from We R Memory Keepers Seashells and BoBunny Snow Day Stamps. All the writing on the photos was done with a Photo Signature pen.

Week 24. Again, loved how it turned out. I'm really trying not to have so many pictures of Violet and more of our life right now. Some days it's a bit hard, but hey, I'm trying! All the typing font was done in the Waltograph font (Walt Disney's font).

 photo _DSC5870_zps035384dd.jpg

The title card and all 4 journal cards are all from Project Life Cobalt Kit.

Yes, Brody did soak me playing water tag. He's one fast boy. And the one of Violet looking all proud of herself, or deciding how to cause mischief? She was sleeping in her toddler bed for nap time this week. My oh my, how she is growing! The photo of the Ferris Wheel is one that I took when Summer in the City was in town.

I just had to include a Dr. Seuss quote for this week. I also took Violet to go see my sister's horses and she got to pet a foal! Violet also decided that nectarines are really yummy right now and that she had to play hard-to-get with her boyfriend Kayden. A Bible verse from this week and Mr. Payton!

Love this quote!
See you next time!

Weekend | June 14-16, 2013

Friday started out nice and relaxing. Was able to do quite a bit of Bible devotions before Violet woke up around 8. And of course the usual breakfast and play-time. Babysat Payton for a little bit while Brody and Madison were at swimming lessons. He LOVED being in the exersaucer! And Violet was showering him in kisses like usual. Brett and the kids stopped by after swimming was done and let all the kids play around a bit. And Brett showed me how ticklish Payton is. Adorable! After they left I quickly did  dishes and got supper ready for tomorrow and then sat down to lunch with Violet. Nap-time followed shortly after and I worked on some Project Life stuff and Violet's Rag Rug. It's slowly coming along! And so proud to report that Violet stayed in her big bed for her nap-time all this week! Guess next week she'll move to the big bed for night-time as well. Once Keith got home and Violet was up from her nap, we piled in the car to drop Violet off at Keith's Dad's place so that me and Keith could go on our date night! We were originally going to go to The Keg Steakhouse for supper and then go see a movie, but with the timing, we would only be picking Violet up after 10pm. So we opted for supper and bumming around. Supper at The Keg Steakhouse was really good. We got a Mushroom Neptune appetizer, and full meals complete with steaks, veggies and potatoes. I was waddling afterwards. Then we went to bum around St. Vital mall where Keith picked up a game that he's been waiting for months to get. I got myself some Chocolate Mint Fudge from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and Keith bought me 2 new body butters from The Body Shop: Raspberry and Passion Fruit. Picked up Violet just after 8pm and Mom & Dad said that she did really good, save for 2 meltdowns. Guess she had to test boundaries. Lol. Once we got home and put her to bed, we chilled for a bit before calling it a night.

Saturday was the usual day at work. And when I got home, Violet was already gone with Aunt Sam so that we could do our Truth Project class. During our class (which is held in our house), Keith's brother Jon stopped by to start putting the new siding on our house! yeah! After we were done Truth Project,  I walked down to Sam's place and went walking around Summer in the City with Sam and Violet. Didn't do any rides as they were $$$, but it was nice looking around. Sam said he had already walked around with Violet when she ha her before and she really loved the goats and sheep at the Petting Zoo. Unfortunately , they were putting the animals away when we got there. When we got back home, Keith and Jon had finished about 1/2 of the siding. Apparently Jon ran out of energy. Lol. Once Violet was in bed around 8:30, Keith played his video game while I worked on some stuff on my computer. And then around 11:00pm, Keith mentioned that he was hungry. So was I. So I drove to A&W at 11:15 in the evening to get food. Yes, it was worth it! And bedtime at 12:30am!

Face-time with Keith and Violet while I'm at work.

A&W at 11:30 at night!

Sunday I had booked the day off so that me and my sisters could take our hubbies and Dad out to the Zoo for Father's Day. Violet stayed in her bed for the entire night!! Woot!! Me and Violet were even nice to Keith and let him sleep in until 9:30am while we had been up since 7:30am. Lucky guy. Unfortunately, Keith couldn't come with us to the Zoo as he had to help Jon finish the siding on the house. Me and Violet left close to 10am and made it to the Zoo in decent time, although major traffic from the Manitoba Marathon did't help. Once everyone showed up at the Zoo, we went walking around. The kids loved everything! And me, Brody and Madison got to touch an Emu in the Australian Walk-About. And Brody was really excited about seeing the Penguins. Violet did pretty good and walked about half the time that we were there and we were there for 3 hours! After we were done walking around the Zoo, we got back into the cars and went to Burger King. I guess someone was really tired because she was out cold by the time we got to Burger King. And after eating a very late lunch, she got we second wind and didn't fall asleep at all on the ride home.  Once we got home, I made supper while she played with Keith and then relaxed until bedtime.

Weekend | June 7-9,2013:

Friday was a nice relaxing day today. Had Payton in the morning and Violet was so happy that he came by. After Natalie picked him up, me and Violet went grocery shopping. $93 later.... At least I scored some good deals, including bananas that were on sale for $0.59/lb. Woot! Quickly stopped by The Scrapbook Cottage after shopping was done. Good thing too because they were having a sale on that I didn't know about, so I decided  to buy some stuff for stamping as I've never really done scrapbook stamping before and thought that maybe it could add a little "oomph" to some stuff. Grabbed a couple stamps and an ink pad while Violet was at total ease when we were in the store, just walking around, bringing me random stuff (and put it back when I asked her). Awesome kid. The rest of the afternoon/evening was spent lazing around. On the bonus side, I finally finished cutting up all the fabric for Violet's Rag Rug and while I was watching Sherlock during Violet's nap, I was able to start weaving the fabric into the mat. Even if I weave one row a day, I'm estimating that it'll take me close to 2 months to complete. But it will be so worth it.

I have a messy eater 😄

Saturday was a busy day at work. But it made it go by faster. And when I got home, Keith had a tub waiting for me so that I could quickly clean up before Violet woke up from her nap and we did The Truth Project. Violet went to my Mom's down the street while we did our class. After our class was done, Violet back home and supper eaten, me and Violet went to the park down the street for some playtime. And like usual, she spent about 1/2 hour in the swings. She could live in that if I let her. And after she went to bed, time to chill and work on Violet's Project Life album.

One of my many lists at work of everything that I had to 1:30pm!!!

Face-time with my baby girl!!!

I could leave her in here all day long.....

On the play structure

Sunday was just a crazy day at work. Not only were we 2 people short, it was insanely busy. And since I was on Soup & Sandwich, it was pretty stressful. And to top it all off, I stayed an extra 40 minutes to finish up everything else that I had to do. And I had to drive the scooter through pouring rain on the way home. Not really the way I like to end work. Once I got home, I was able to grab a quick shower as Violet was still sleeping and then when she got up about 15 minutes later, I got her changed, grabbed her bag and the two of us headed to my Meme's birthday party. Had a good time visiting, even though Violet was playing shy with her Pepe. Stayed there for almost 2 hours and then headed home to get supper going and wind down before bedtime.

Violet playing with Violet. 2nd cousins born exactly 3 months apart. And yes, both have the same first name. Long story on that one.

Project Life 2013 - Weeks 20-22

Welcome to Project Life Week 20-22!

I know I said that I'd try to update on a weekly basis, but with a toddler that requires constant attention (and seriously, as I typed this, Violet went and put her handprints on the TV *facepalm*) a house that also requires cleaning and organizing and a hubby who also requires *attention*, I just promise to update when I can. K?

I had so many photos that I couldn't chose from for the week, so I printed out 2-8x10 inserts for the extra photos.

This is the close-up of the right-side of Week 20. I snagged the SuperMom comic from FaceBook. I also used some of Ali Edwards' word art on some of the photos (so <3 a="" this="">, <3 a="" today="">, so love these moments) and the black and white one was edited with PicTapGo.

Week 21 layout (May 19-25). I actually really like how this all came together. And yes, I did put a photo in there of the new Star Trek movie that I saw with my Dad. Awesome!

A combination of Violet's words for the week and common words heard around our house. I kinda did the half-assed, but still worth it. Card from Sn@p Studio by Simple Stories.

I was extremely excited by this. I had seen a blogger/scrapbooker use Stickles on a journal card a couple weeks ago. Well, what do you know, my local scrapbook store (The Scrapbook Cottage) carries them! So when I went it and saw them right away, I instantly grabbed the Glam Pink and the Lavender and got to work to see it in person. So cool!! I do recommend to let it dry a couple hours, or even better, overnight. But it turned out awesome!

For Violet's 18-month needles (even though she's 19 months. I didn't schedule them until April and they only had openings in the end of May. Oops), I just grabbed a 4x6 sheet of cardstock, put the stickers that she got at her appointment on there, wrote on there her measurements and then put Glam Pink, Lavender and Magenta Stickles around it.
The doctor did raise a concern about her weight. Although she is tall for her age, she's on the low weight side. But she eats like a horse!! Literally, she would eat all day if I let her and she can eat as much as she wants at meal times with 2 snacks and a night-lunch a day. That girl has a high metabolism I tell you.

My nephew Brody absolutely loves this one. This is him playing soccer when we went to go watch him one evening. I used Orange Peel, True Blue and Firefly Stickles to write out everything.

Close up of right side of Week 22. Photos + writing = me happy. The journal card is from Sn@p Studio by Simple Stories. It's not finished yet and may take a bit of time to do so. It's about the last BBQ at my childhood home as my Dad sold it. Oh, and the pen I used to write on the photos was a Photo Signature pen.
